Lobster Corn Chowder

as a thank you for throwing a baby shower for my sister, she bought a copy of barefoot contessa, back to basics for me. i just adore ina! (i write about her like we're best friends.) i think she has wonderful recipes that are easy to follow and always tasty!

i read the book cover to cover before i settled on Lobster Corn Chowder. this dish is RICH...literally! lobster apparently isn't in season and with all of the booze that went into this meal, it ended up costing a pretty penny. i followed the recipe exactly except i substituted the whole milk for soy milk. if i were to win the lottery and cook this meal again, i would only use half the amount of heavy cream.
looks similar, no?

i also picked up a copy of Clean Food which inspired my next dish. smoked salmon rolls with avocado and quinoa! it was amazing! i personally think all sushi should be made with quinoa vs. sushi rice. these suckers were a little difficult to roll. i have way more respect for sushi chefs now.
